Thomas Austin CSAC, CCS
Thomas is the owner and Executive Director of Southeast
Addiction Institute and Learning Center (SAIL).  Thomas has
worked in the Substance Abuse field for over 16 years.   He
has 13 years experience working with the Criminal Justice
population and over 10 years experience working with Drug
Treatment Courts.   Through his direction
, SAIL has been one
of the leading forces in changing the standards of substance
abuse treatment, particularly in the Treatment of those with
Dual Disorders (Substance abuse and mental illness).  
Additionally, Thomas provides supervision and consultation in
the field of Addiction.  He specializes in working with
resistant clients as well as those with personality disorders.

Trainings provided by Mr. Austin include; the Disease of
Addiction, Motivational Interviewing, Brain Chemistry of
Addiction, Treatment with Young Adults.

the NC Substance Abuse Professional Board to provide
Continuing Education Hours to Professionals.
Melissa Quick D.Min., LPC, CCS, LCAS
Melissa Quick has been in the field of substance abuse
/mental health for over 16 years. She received her bachelor's
degree from Wingate University in
Religious Studies and her
master's degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
in Theological Studies with an emphasis in counseling. Melissa
continued her studies receiving a doctorate in ministry. She is
a License Professional Counselor, a Certified Clinical
Supervisor, and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor.
Melissa is active in the community by serving
as co-chair on
the Mecklenburg County Substance Abuse Best Practices
Committee. She is a part of the Executive
Committee of the  
Mecklenburg County
Provider's Council, and has been a part
of many focus groups serving on several community advocate
committees.

Melissa is a also a professional trainer teaching workshops
focusing on substance abuse and mental health issues. Her
passion surrounds the neurobiology of addiction and the
spiritual aspects of mental illness and addiction. She has
taught at local colleges as well. Teaching
is her main passion
in the field with importance being placed on reducing stigma
and moral judgment around mental illness and substance
abuse.
